Women, behave!

Updated: Nov 1, 2020

For the right reasons, obviously. I'll tell you why.

On Women's Day, I speak about men. This is something which comes naturally to me.It is not intentional. It is not to garner attention. It just happens.

Today's woman is voicing her opinion. Standing up for herself. Standing up for other women. Not giving in. Neither giving up. Bad things still happen to her on a daily basis. But she chooses to to change the face of the reality instead of accepting it as her fate.

What worries me is that while slowly and steadily, things are changing for women, something is changing for men as well. Clearly, not for the good.

There's a newfound fear among men. He is compelled to keep his mouth shut and not utter a word against a lady even if it is her fault, because - she is a woman. The crowd will applaud her & not him. I have seen ladies screaming at men on railway stations even if they accidentally touch them. I know it is difficult to gauge everyone's intention. I know current situations are not the ideal ones to trust men or anyone. But if you know, deep inside, he didn't mean to do anything to you and was simply running to catch that train, spare him please? Because even if you choose to beat up the guy, no body will step in to help him. Because you are a woman.

I admit that I have increased my pace of walk when I have realized a man is walking closely behind me. He might be unaware of my existence, but that is how I feel about most of the men. My only request to all the women out there is, if you are really sure that the man is at fault, take action. Without a doubt. But don't misuse the power women have today and throw in his face the definition of 'feminism'. Before you do that, understand what it means. Before you call him out in public or share a post about him, please be sure that you are seeking justice and not trying to shame someone for a win, because people will think - she is a woman, she is right.

When we empower each other, let's be nice to them as well. The goal is to be kind to all, and not only fellow women. So yes, behave. We don't want a women fearing world. We want a world which loves and respects every human being!
